Does My Septic Tank
Need Pumped?

If you are experiencing any of the following, it is likely you are in need of having your septic tank pumped:

Slow or gurgling drains indicate that you septic tank is nearing capacity and waste is not flowing properly.  The gurgling sound happens when air is trapped in the ppes due to restricted drainage, often caused by sludge buildup.  Slow drains occur because wastewater has no where to go, leading to backups over time.  These are early warning signs that your septic system needs pumping to prevent costly damage and potential overflows.

Slow or Gurgling Drains?

Pooling Water Near Septic?

Pooling water near our septic system means the tank is too full, causing wastewater to seep into the yard instead of properly draining.  This often appears as unexplained wet spots, soggy grass, or standing water where it hasn't rained.  The soil around the system becomes oversaturated, unable to absorb more liquid, leading to potential odors and health hazards.

Has It Been More Than 3 Years?

It was long-thought that septic tanks rarely, if ever, needed to be pumped.  As the industry has advanced, we've learned this is wildly incorrect and regular pumping dramatically helps extend the life of your system.  The Health Department recommends having your septic tank pumped every 2-3 years, pending usage.  Larger households with higher usage may need pumped more frequently than a 1-2 person household.  IF you use a garbage disposal we recommend pumping annually.  If it's been more than 3 years, we recommend getting a pump out.

Sewage Backing Up?

A sewage backup happens when a full septic tank leaves no space for new wastewater, forcing it to flow back into the home.  It usually appears in the lowest drains, like bathtubs, showers, or basement drains.  This occurs because the system is overloaded and wastewater has no where else to go.  If you notice black sludge or foul-smelling water coming up from your drains, your septic tank needs pumped immediately.

5-Star Service

We use a high-powered mixer that completely breaks up and liquefies sludge in your septic tank for a deeper, more effective clean. Traditional backflushing just sprays water back in, which can leave behind stubborn solids. By fully liquefying waste, we ensure a complete pump-out, no stubborn sludge left behind!

Many companies charge extra for pumping tanks over 1,000 gallons. At Gift Septic Service our price includes the removal of up to 1,250 gallons Instead of just 1,000.

If your septic system has a filter, It should be cleaned at least once per year. We clean the filter during pumping, and will come out to clean it AGAIN the following year for FREE.
